Psalm 55:6 “I said, ‘Oh, that I had wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.'”

I love this verse in Psalm. Sometimes life is difficult and I wish for wings to fly away to find my peace again. However, I find God is there with me during those difficult times too. All through the years and all my mission trips, God has shown me His presence in so many ways and in those moments, I find my peace.

One time in particular was during my mom’s funeral. My dad had passed away a little more than a year before my mom. Now here I was burying my mom too. I became an orphan, like those I care for in with my mission work. As we stood at my parent’s grave, my brother pointed out two doves in separate trees near us. Soon, one dove flew over to join the other one and they sat together for a while. Then, they flew away together. My brother commented that maybe the doves represented my mom and dad together again, flying away to heaven. I knew immediately that God had provided us with the visual. Once again, God was faithful to provide me the peace I needed at that moment.
