Worldly Roads to Heaven
Have you noticed the bumper stickers proclaiming that all religions of the world should coexist? The message wants to encourage all religions to live in peace with one another. It’s a nice thought, but will it lead any of us to heaven? The prevailing thought of the secular world believes that all religions are the same, or at the least, they worship the same God, so it does not matter which one you follow.
And for many others, faith boils down to the sample thought, “Be a good person and get to heaven.” This common message views our God as a God of love. He loves us all and so everyone will get to heaven if they behave like a good person. While the part of God loves all of us is true, this ideology overlooks what the Bible says. For example, Romans 10:9 (ESV); “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Our Christian faith believes that there is only one way to heaven and His name is Jesus.
Jesus – Roads to Heaven
In John 14:6, Jesus makes it very clear to His disciples as they gathered around him. Jesus announces He is the only way to an eternity with the Father. These words still ring true for us today as well. Many articles, blogs, and churches themselves want to convince us there are many ways to get to heaven. In fact, some proclaim that following the example of Christ’s life was all you needed with no confessing or repenting of our sin.
Don’t be fooled by these false prophets. No one comes to the Father except with a belief in Jesus Christ. Part of our faith calls us to live a godly life, but we must also confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. No other way will get you there. Jesus died and rose again to prove He is the One and Only God. He is The Way.
Taking the Right Road
Our faith is not complicated. But it requires a conscience decision as found in John 3:16 (ESV); “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” The narrow road to heaven goes through Jesus Christ and requires us to believe and proclaim Him as Lord. Once we do that, Jesus will lead us on the road to our heavenly home.
Prayer:
Dearest Jesus, I confess that you are the one true way to eternal life. Please give me Your words to share with others to show them the truth of who You are. Protect me from those who teach something different. In Jesus’ name. Amen

There is but one way to Heaven, one way to God, and one way to salvation and God’s saving grace. And while God is love (1 John 4:16), He is also a just God and He will one day give you to your heart’s desire. Choose Jesus friends.

I always cringe when I see those coexist bumper stickers. We do need to live in kindness with each other and show love so we can win people to Jesus. But we can’t coexist on theology when other doctrines deny the lordship of Christ and the way to be saved. Thanks for sharing this, Yvonne.

Yvonne, this was the perfect verse to share in your post: Romans 10:9 (ESV); “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Our Christian faith believes that there is only one way to heaven and His name is Jesus. As I grow older, this passage resonates even more with me. Heaven seems to be closer than it ever has before. The love I feel for the Savior causes me to weep, for He gave Himself up for us!
