The Breathe Life Bible Review

I’m a member of the Thomas Nelson Bibles blogger program. With my membership, I occasionally review some of their new products. In exchange for my review, I get a free copy of the book I am reviewing. Today, I am privileged to give you my review of The Breathe Life Bible (NKJV) by Thomas Nelson.

Why Own a Bible?

Do you still own a physical Bible? I own many Bibles, in various versions, sizes and colors, and I use them in different ways. I use my study Bible for research for my writing projects. Also, I use a smaller, pink Bible for when I speak at women’s events. And the others are ones I received as gifts. So, I believe it is important to own at least one physical copy of the Bible and maybe one without a layer of dust, lol.

The Breathe Life Bible

This Bible excited me for several reasons. One, it came in purple, which I love. And two, in the additional sections, it has a focus on faith in action and how to be the hands and feet of Christ, something that is near and dear to my heart. Also, this is a large, leather bond edition with both new and old Testaments. I really liked the feel and elegance of it.

A Deeper Look at Breathe Life Bible

The Breathe Life Bible comes with some differences. The editors who contributed additional items like the forward, or the other articles laced throughout, wrote to people who faced the pain of injustice within their lives and yet still hang on to Jesus amidst their trials. And quoting from the guide listed in the front, “It is for everyone-but it has been especially crafter with the people of color in mind.” Also, reading some commentaries opened my mind to moving through this suffocating world while staying focused on God.

Breathe Acronym

But why call it Breathe Life and cause us all to pause as the spell check wants to change it? So, Breathe is an acronym for; Believe, reconcile, exalt, act, trust, hope and elevate. And what a beautiful way to look at our faith. This book calls each of us to become a community who works together to make our world better for everyone. Amen.

A Great Edition for Anyone

Some of the additional information includes articles exploring each of these seven aspects of BREATHE acronym, Q&A format articles addressing difficult life situations, short biographical sketches of 49 different biblical people, and experiences of 24 leaders who address issues of justice with biblical truth. I recommend this Bible as a great addition to any library. And for more information or to purchase your copy, go to The Breathe Life Bible, NKJV – Thomas Nelson Bibles.

And since I like to end my post with a prayer, so I’m using part of the prayer by Hezekiah Walker found in the front of the Bible.

Prayer by Hezekiah Walker

prayer for Breathe Life

“I pray that every reader of this Holy Bible will be uplifted and grateful for the things that You have done. Through it all, may they reach a place where they can be grateful for the victories won. Though much can me hard, may they see Your works and praise You Lord. You love us and You will forever help us to breathe! In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen and Amen”

The Breathe Life Bible sounds like a wonderful Bible. And it’s cool that you have a pink Bible. It’s hard sometimes to find a feminine-looking Bible.

I love that they come in fun colors now. But what’s inside is the true treasure. Thanks Priscilla and God bless.

Thank you Katherine. Having lots of Bibles around also frees me to give them away when I feel God leads me. God bless you.
