Learn How to Find Boldness in Faith

Scripture for Boldness

The Boldness Prayer by Jabez: “He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do and keep me from all trouble and pain! And God granted him his request.” 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NLT)

Boldness

Today’s Encouragement for Boldness

In our culture today, the saying “Go big or go home” is popular. This saying suggests that buying flashy cars or fancy houses shows success in life and living large is the goal. Society encourages us to be bold in our pursuit of wealth. But are we bold in our faith? Do we offer bold prayers to God? Let’s look at the life of Jabez to see what a bold faith looks like.

Jabez is a minor character in the Bible, mentioned only a few times in 1 Chronicles. In 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, it says that Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because she gave birth to him in pain. So what can we learn from him?

Jabez also wanted boldness in his life. However, he didn’t desire worldly things. Instead, he wanted to be bold for God. He prayed the most daring prayer found in the Bible. The amazing part is that God granted Jabez’s requests because of his bold faith. His boldness even earned him the name “man of God.”

I want to be as bold as Jabez in my faith. My purpose is not a selfish one because I want to expand my territory by winning others for Christ. I want the world to see me as a woman of God. I no longer believe the lie of “go big or go home.” My new motto is “Go big for God and go home to heaven for my rewards.”

Pray for Boldness

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the example of living a life with boldness for you. Thank you for showing us the example of praying with boldness. Please help me follow hard after you and ignore the call of the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yes, be bold in sharing our faith. If we are timid in sharing our faith, we can pray to God and ask for His guidance. 🙂

Amen, Yvonne. I want to hear Father say, “Well done.” As we all live boldly in our little corners of the world, He’s accomplishing His wonderful plan.

I want to be bold in faith without any waffling between faith and doubt. God is perfect in love, power, and wisdom. I want to trust Him completely so fear can’t gain any ground in my heart.
