In exchange for my review, I get a free copy of the book I am reviewing. Today, I am privileged to give you my review of Grace for the Moment Daily Bible (NKJV) with devotionals by Max Lucado.
Details of this Bible
Bestselling author and pastor Max Lucado invites us to become drenched in the boundless ocean of God’s grace. Using this Bible allows us to take a few moments each day to read God’s Word and connect with the Savior. Within the pages, we find excerpts from Max’s works that apply to our life. I believe it will help us experience the fullness of His grace through each of the 365 Grace for the Moment readings. Each day also includes a reading from the Old and New Testaments, Psalms, and Proverbs. This format encourages us to embark on a transformative journey through the depths of God’s Word.
Why a New King James Version Bible?
The translators did not intend for this version to be a new translation of the Bible. Instead, its goal was to improve upon the original King James version. The translators aimed to maintain the lyrical and devotional qualities while enhancing the accuracy of the definitions of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek words from the original texts.
Format Of this Bible
One notable difference is that this Bible is organized by calendar year instead of following the traditional book order. Each page corresponds to a specific date, starting with January 1st. It includes a message from Max, a reading from Genesis, a psalm, and a reading from Matthew. While this layout is ideal for my daily reading, it is not practical for researching or finding specific verses. Thus, I will still keep a regular formatted Bible for those purposes.

My Recommendation

As always, Thomas Nelson has created a useful tool to help us engage with God’s word every day. I’m excited to begin the new year with this valuable resource.
