“14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Romans 10:14-15 (NIV)

Beautiful Feet Spreading Good News
God gave us the Ten Commandments in the book of Exodus. They offered instructions to the Israelites on Godly living. And these still apply to us today. Fast forward several thousand years to the New Testament, and we find Jesus gave us additional commands. Jesus told us to love and to go (See John 13:34 and Matthew 28:19 below). Jesus calls us to share our love with others and tell them the Good news of the Gospel. We are God’s hands and feet to a hurting world today. So, do we have beautiful feet that share the Gospel?
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
John 13:34 (NIV)
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
Feet of Beauty
Try to imagine our world without people sharing the Gospel. Would Paul have been converted if Ananias had not responded to God’s call to go? Would the church have been born if Peter had said no to Jesus’ call to make him a fisher of men? From twelve disciples, God built His church that has survived for thousands of years and spread worldwide. And He calls each of us to continue spreading the gospel work today. We are all called to be His missionaries.
Our job is to plant the seeds of the Word of God. I picture us as Johnny Appleseed, sowing the Word of God everywhere we go. And someday, God will allow those seeds to grow into mighty Christians. New Christians who, in turn, will go out and spread the Gospel. One day, we will stand before the throne of God and see all those who found salvation through the seeds of a missionary with beautiful feet.
The Benefits
God calls us to spread the Gospel, but He knows something else will happen along the way. The experience will change us and bless us more than ever imagined. Seeing lives change also encourages us and strengthens our faith when we face problems in our futures.
After years of participating in mission trips, I return home from each trip with many more blessings than I had provided. For example, I’ve found faith and hope in the faces of extreme poverty as I witnessed their faith in God’s healing power because no medical care was available. Additionally, I found blessings when I connected with my brothers and sisters in Christ and established lasting friendships. Finally, God’s blessing made my feet beautiful, and it felt better than any pedicure.
We Need More Beautiful Feet Today
God does call us to spread the Gospel. Yet, the thought of sharing our faith often scares most of us. But this job comes with many benefits in the form of blessings. “Our faith becomes stronger as we express it; a growing faith is a sharing faith.” — Billy Graham. And, as we see in the Bible, God will be with us every step of the way, teaching us what to say. Luke 12:12 (NIV); “for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for all Your hand provides for me. Please give me the strength and courage to share the Gospel with those around me so they can find eternal life. Please send the Holy Spirit to guide me and my words as I share with others about Your saving grace and eternal hope. Help me to have beautiful feet that bring good news!” Amen.
Great counsel today ma’am. I think, for me, the key is that I must be always willing to step out in faith and respond to God’s calling to reach out to those He places on my path. Another great post Ms. Yvonne. Thank you ma’am.
Thanks JD. In these challenging times, we all must be willing to step out in faith to share with others. Blessings my friend
Yvonne, thank you for your “beautiful feet” that share through this blog and other ways. I am a Christian today because of the beautiful feet off so many God used along the way to share his goodness, kindness, and Gospel of grace.
That is such a beautiful thought Candice. We are all here because of someone’s beautiful feet sharing the Gospel with us. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. Blessings
I love that picture of us as Johnny Appleseed, and I do agree. We are to plant and sow the Gospel wherever we go and however we can and NEVER ever stop! 🙂 Thank you!
Thanks Jessica. I like thinking of spreading the Gospel like him. And some day we will witness the harvest of our work. Blessings
Yvonne – thank you for reminding us that sharing the gospel doesn’t just bless others, it blesses us, too!
Thanks Ava. It was a wonderful lesson to learn. Blessings
Thank you for this reminder of the Great Commission. We are commissioned to go and to take the Gospel wherever the LORD leads us to go, wherever in the world at whatever time. We are to go.
Thank you for this reminder to go, therefore, and take the Gospel to everyone the LORD leads us to approach with the Gospel, in whatever country He sends us to go to, and in any neighborhood.
Thanks Melinda. I think our time is growing short so we need an additional sense of urgency in sharing the gospel. Blessings
What a wonderful message! We have wonderful opportunities to share the love of Christ in every moment. 🙂
Yes we do Melissa. I hope you find lots of opportunities this week. Blessings
Thanks, Yvonne.
😊welcome. Blessings
We need this message more than ever today. (How many before us have thought the same thing?)
Thankful for the Johnny Appleseeds in my life – most who know nothing about how they planted seeds of faith in my heart. And you’re right: To give is to receive.
Amen Candyce. I am so thankful for those who sowed the seeds into my life. Blessings
Great post, Yvonne. I always enjoy hearing about your mission trips and your heart for missions. But I especially want beautiful feet that bring good news.
Amen Karen. And God can give each of us having beautiful feet. Blessings
Such an inspiring message, Yvonne! I love the quote by Billy Graham, “Our faith becomes stronger as we express it.” Many of us are nervous about openly sharing our faith–we fear ridicule and rejection. Your message is so encouraging. Thank you.
Thanks Katherine. I pray the Lord gives all of us a heart to share His Gospel. Blessings
I am so thankful for the people that poured into my life and want to pay it forward. A beautiful message.
Thanks Jennifer. Me too. Blessings
