2015 in Review

Romans 1:8 “First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.”

The above Bible verse from Romans rings so true for me because I do thank God for all of you. Your support has helped us spread the Gospel throughout the world. So, for today’s blog, I thought I would provide details about God’s provisions for the beautiful orphans in our care during 2015. We serve an Awesome God.

Nepal

Our Nepal orphanage (pictured above) cares for 20 children, 11 girls and 9 boys. We sent $21,050.00 in support to this home during the year. This provided 21,900 meals, rent, school fees, clothing, glasses for several children and various medical checkups and treatments.

Major events during 2015 – two large earthquakes caused massive disruptions to life for the entire country. An ongoing blockade at the border with India continues to cause huge shortages in fuel, heating oil, medicines and food. Robbers targeted our home during the earthquake chaos.

Myanmar

Our Myanmar orphanage (pictured above) cares for 16 children, 9 girls and 7 boys. We sent $12,500.00 in support to this home during the year. This provided 17,520 meals, rent, school fees, clothing and various medical checkups and treatments.

Major events – Pastor Go Pau suffered a heart attack. God heard our prayers and he is recovering. We bought bunk beds for some of the older girls. The area experienced major flooding during the monsoon season and caused disruptions for weeks.

Sierra Leone

The Sierra Leone orphanage (pictured above) provides for about 25 children but we only support six of the children due to lack of funds. We sent $3,900.00 in support to this home during the year. This provided mainly for medical needs and some food.

Major events – we started this partnership during 2015. The country suffered a historical Ebola outbreak that left 22,000 new orphans across the region. We provided bunk beds and sheets for six new orphans. We paid for medical expenses for Baby Moses, who received severe burns from an unknown person. We also paid medical expense for two children attacked by wild dogs.

Summary

orphanreliefeffort

We supplied $37,450.00 in support to these homes during the year. Our only other expenses were bank fees and Western Union fees which totaled $1471.79 (3.93%). We have no paid staff members, all work voluntarily.

Thank you for all your support and donations. You help us fulfill the command found in James 1:27 “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.”

We look forward to seeing what God has in store for each of our homes during 2016. Please continue to pray for our orphans and for our ministry. May the Lord bless you and prosper you during the New Year.
